I've noticed alot of people don't know how they do this horrible thing.
Dyeing- they place the fish into a tank that has for say 'food coloring' in it at a heavy volume. (kinda like how rid ich dyes us) out of 100 fish they might have 30-40 fish that they will actually be able to use.
Injecting- this one is the worse. They actually inject the color into the vein that they want it in. (When I was little I thought they were cool, 4 days after he was at my house my little brother and I watch the neon green come out of the fishes forehead! No child should ever see that)
Tattooing- THE WORSE If you have a weak stomache you might not want to read this part. They start by removing the slime coat from the fish, then the scales. Keep in mind they DO NOT put the fish to sleep! Then they tattoo the fish the same has they would you and me. After that they slap some Slim Coat Additative on the fish and put them back into the tank. Out of 100 fish maybe 10-30 make it.
I'm with FreakyFish, this needs to be stoped and if FreakyFish are reading this, make sure you put this information on that petition. I have put the link onto my business' web-site to help. Once you have reached 100k signatures if you want I can help you process it to the right person. It is what I'm doing with mine. The more signatures the better they are. You just need some more basic information about how horrible it is. You might want to try posting on other sites like craigslist.org. In 2 days I'm already over 80 signatures.

Tropical fish already come in many varieties of different colours naturally. I don't see the need to artificially colour any fish. I agree it is sick.

I don't think that most of the people that do purchase them would, if only they knew what was involved. Unfortunately, stores that carry them aren't required to disclose what their fish are subjected to, or I think that demand would drop dramatically.
