i just realized this morning my master test kit is out of date by 4 months my friend gave it to me when she gave up fishkeeping so god knows how long she had it for. i really don't fancy throwing it out it was barely used.will it still work or will it give me false reading?

hi kelly, i can say from experience that it will have an effect on the water stats. mine had 4 mths to go and when i got new ones the difference in the readings were quite a bit e.g ph was 6.8 on the old, and 7.2 on the new. to the old set. they do have a shelf life and i certainly wouldnt trust the reads your getting from them. i will be very surprised if you dont find some difference in them when you replace them.

I'd replace them without a doubt kelly.
