the tank finaly arrived as you know. to day i set it up in position after removing the internal filter. now you see it now you dont pretty bubbles everywhere i removed the internal as i am waiting for an external and lights to arrive from uk. it is set up as a test and to check for leaks. as you can see i put the internal back in place, its only resting on the bottom, so if i do need it in the future it will be there ready. the substrate and plants should be here at the weekend, so i intend to remove the water and start from scratch with the substrate and not make the same mistake i made last time.

i read somewhere that removing the juwel internal filters is no easy task. i can see a very nice set-up in the making, any luck with the decision on fish species?

removing the filter was easy enough just awkward trying to get into t glue at the back of the filter and not scratching the glass as you do it. took me about 1/2hr picking away at it. and not a single scratch. as for the fish? no idea what im going to do, for all the answers ive had back of diff sites, it works for some & not for others, so im back to the thinking stage again. :Thin:

you're not alone with the decision making there,i still can't decide what to go in my 180 with my corys, very keen on sth or central american cichlids, but worried about territorial squabbles, may go with keyholes, but tank is in busy thoroughfare in house, they sound rather shy.anyway,i wont hijack your thread with my probs. well done on the scratchless removal!
