i went to a pet shop today and seen the fish i want
they are called oscars
the girl said i could have two in my tank but nothing else
i would like more fish so should i go for some other fish?

spitfire, That lady doesn't have any idea what she is talking about, Oscars have the potential to grow to 14" and the minimum requirement for one is 55g (210 lts) for two you would require a 90g tank. Don't be disheartened, keep on asking and we will help as much as possible. :rock:

why do people work in pet shops if they know nothing
about pets i dont understand
i did some reading today on paradice fish
would they be good for someone like me?

that is what you have to be carefull of spitfire, some and most certainly not all people who work in lfs are only there to get money and have no interest in fish keeping, as as all people on a forum like this are only interested in fish keeping and the well being of the fish/plants they keep. have a read of the link below on paradise fish. i have never kept them myself but they appear to be quite aggresive. but i am not 100% sure on this. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradise_Fish
