yes it does say it can affect the water but in my experience it hasn't. but just keep an eye on it anyway and i would also take out any wood or ornaments as it may discolour them, i would also add a air pump if you haven't already.

Ive never had a problem with water stats when using it, but just test your regularly and you should be fine.

zoomo i think its done it job ,ill run some carbon in there now to get rid ,...what happened was my rams laid some eggs ,and the male started to flick and rub himself on the sand and rocks , don't know why water was fine ? he seems to be ok now thank god!! but the sand is looking very blue, ill have to get rid of that its difficult at the moment with the eggs and all

I would not use a med as strong as meth/blue for flicking. High nitrates cause the same symptons as gill flukes and flicking . I would only use Meth /blue in abath form as it can damage your filther. Always do water changes before you add meds because most of the time its water quality that causes the problems. Only add the meds if you are absolutley sure that its the right thing to do.

Hi anthony ,i checked my water it was nitrite 0, amm,0 nitrate10, i thought that if i take the male out she would abandon the eggs ,so i used methylene because you can use this with eggs ,i think it has worked he is not flicking anymore and feeding well ,ive put some carbon in now the fish seem to be ok, ive got some filter media in another tank i can use if need be , but i think next time ill do a bath ...lol
