It will heal itself in time. IME Melafix is the biggest load of codswallop that I ever bought. I used it for 3 different things..... 1 Body fungus. 2 External parasites on discus. ie discus plague 3 ulcers. It had absolutely no effect on the afore mentioned things. It only cures things that heal themselves naturally.
Catch the fish in a net a dab some Metholine blue on the wound if it is really bothering you. This will stop any infection. There is a slim chance you might get some fungus. The Meth blue should prevent this from happening.

Another crap product. You cannot add slime coat from a bottle to an existing fish. It has to be regenerated. I would class stresscoat as bad Melafix, a total waste of money. The best way to regenerate slime coat is to saltbath fish. I will write a proper post on salt bathing tomorrow. Had too much drink now and its late.

mix a few drops of pure teatree oil and pure aloe vera oil in a bottle with some tank water, then add to teh tank. I have to agree with anthony on everything he's said, so won't be repeating it.

Thanks Kitykat. Get yourself a bottle of teatree oil. Thats the main ingredient in Melafix. Melafix also leaves a horrible smell in your tank too.
