Don`t put that black backing in the tank, it looks awful. Got for Malawi`s cichlids and stick to Haps and Peacocks.

hiya.janette, the thing is with the likes of polystyrene is the rougher you cut it the better natural look it will have proberbly. dont quote me on this next one cos ive never done it, but can you not use some of your old tank water for the new one if you keeping the same fish. will help cycle the tank faster and will be more normal for the little ocupants? just a thought. but then a moss wall would look briil.

Hi mralgae I'm going to do a water change on my other tank and put some of the old filters and other bits in to help cycle it , plus ill put my external on there to with old media in. just got to wait for the silicon to dry off as i took the filter off to give it a good clean as the bloke kept turtles in it ,and they can carry salmonella so i gave it a good wash in salt to sterilize it its only 7 months old i think i got a bargain i paid £300 for it plus he gave me loads of sponges and other bits
