Ive got a little tank set up 30cm / 12cm
with some fry ive managed to get ahold of, they are 1 week old im still waiting on some snails 1st before i put them in the main tank as its going through the new set up process, but once a tank is mature with adult fish in, how long does fry need to be kept apart from the adults intill they can be added to main setup? week - months?

It all depends on what the fry are and what the mature fish are.Seeing that you posted under livebearers I'm going to assume they're guppys or similar.Probably the easiest way to tell is simply to look at them,if they look like they might fit into the parents mouth, then they're too wee to put in with them.Thats the simple (thats me!)way of doing it.

Mution what kind of fry are they? Depending on the size i've always introduced fry to my main tanks at about 1 month old.
