Got given two clown loaches today , saved them from the toilet death !! i don't know how people can do it !!! never kept them before !! reading up on them , you shouldn't keep them with rams or cardinals ,thats my first problem .They are only young ,and Ive read that they can reach up to 12in ,they seem to be OK at the moment ,poor things where starving with hunger!! they are in a quarantine tank at the moment ,as i know they are prone to white spot, but they are feeding well, and quite playfull , what i want to know is are they much of a problem to keep with rams & cardinals ? or is it just because they are boisterous?

Jannet clown loaches are normally a shy fish I have about ten of them in with my discus which also contains 20 cardinals and as far as size is concerned they are slow growers so you have quite some time to worry about thier size. Plus I have about 5 that are near 6 " and they seem to leave everybody else alone.

Because my clowns can be quite shy too, but when its feeding time they go daft. i feed mines some catfish pellets. Is your water quality ok? mines tend to be more shy if i have left a water change longer than i should have. They seem to need really clean water to keep them happy.

I'd keep an eye on them sometimes clown loaches that look as if they are starving, may have "fish TB". Two out of four of mine had it plus they all developed ich as well just after i bought them, i managed to save one with TB, but sadly the other died. And also cured the ich in the remaining clowns. They have been healthy ever since and have been a real pleasure to keep.
