No i dont think so.i wouldnt put one in anythng smaller than a 5 gallon.but there is lots of people who have them in smaller and they get on grand.i just wouldnt do it.

IME male betta splendens do best in tanks 5-10 UK gal, while females are fine in tanks of 5+ gals unless there is more then one female in which case I would not use anything less then 10 UK gals. Breeders keep male bettas in jars much smaller then that because a) they deal with large numbers of fish and b) they are better able to observe their fish that way and pick out the best ones for breeding.
My advice is go as big as you can and never use anything under 5gal as a permanent home.

Hate the little cups/bowls. I've never kept a betta in naything smaller than a 2g tank. For years now I've kept the in 10g. They love the space.
