I think a lot of it is trial and error! the cat fish pic i took was taken with a digital camera with the lights off in the tank and the flash on, and i put the lens up to the glass, i think orca is good and mike ! I'm still learning :l: the better the camera the better pic imo

I use a canon 350D atm but was using a fuji digi one before... i prefer the 350D lol for standard pics... turn on all lights over tank, some side lights also look good sometimes, room lights off, back lights off. angle camera slightly down or to the side, using the macro setting and flash: take the pics remember not to do this all the time as you can get some very stressed fish. give them a few days between sessions

janette, Txs for the compliment. I have two cameras a BENQ DC C30 and a NIKON Coolpix S4. I can tell you one thing digital allows for lots of experimenting and with me that sums it up, I am forever trying new ideas and tips from some of the better photographers on other forums I.E. MoJO on Aquamojo takes some stunning shots and there are plenty of others. One tip I will pass on that has helped me is to diffuse the flash with tissue paper. I'm also fortunate as a couple of my fish seem to enjoy photo shoots.
