Don't use stones u find outside because the stones could have harmful minerals or chemicals on or in them. I would advice u to buy stones from a pet shop because u can be sure that these stones are safe.

your lfs should have a selections of gravel and sand you can go for.

i washed the blue stones
and put them in my tank
and my water is turning blue from them why?

There no need to panic, the same kind of thing happens to me every time i use new gravel. U can clean and clean and clean gravel but this can still happen, U will probably find that it is sediment from the gravel floating around in the water. Give it some time it should maybe settle down. but if it doesn't it will start to clear once u do some water changes. Remember only do a 20% water change a day at most.
