a disgusting practise.i'm not a violent person, but i could think of some 'cosmetic adjustments' one could do to the perpurators of this crime.

this is done by (i think) injecting the fish with dyes.there are many discussions/debates online and in mags such as practicalfishkeeping on this practise, indeed, pfk mag run a petition for uk aquatic retailers to sign saying they will not stock dyed fish.i believe there is a petition on this forum which one can also sign.it is quite popular in soth east asian countries, fish can be coloured or tatooed to any colour/design you want, you can have words/shapes,etc printed on them.like i say,i don't know much about it,but what i do know,i just don't like.i know i'm certainly not alone here.please don't encourage it by buying them.

hi irishfishkeeper,if you go back to that link and read reply number 10,it explains it better than me,also at the start of each topic in this forum the announcement 'please sign this' is worth a look

I wouldn't hold your breath dave but its worth a try.If i remember correctly when i was in new york i was in that petshop,it had beautifull setups, well looked after fish and a great range of fish then i went down to the back of the shop and there was a full tank of tattooed parrot fish i was discusted.
