i don't believe in them,would never use one,and would not reccommend them.i would not like to see them banned as this is taking the nanny state too far.(people keep siamese fighters in much smaller containers).however it is one thing i check when going to a new lfs,whether or not they stock them.i think IF they insist on stocking them,they should make efforts to educate buyers.i was in a cafe in naas a few weeks ago and saw a women and her kids walk past with a bowl,gravel,food,plastic plant and a goldfish in a bag.not a nice site.

I belive they should be banned they are far too small for any fish and as for bettas i think they should be kept in nothing smaller than a 5 gallon

I dont often see fish bowls stocked in good lfs but like dave says sellers should educated when they are buying them
