Has anyone have any experience with tetra balackwater extract? I am halfway through filling a rekord 70 and have a bottle of this stuff.I (as usual) dont know exactly whats going into the tank yet,but will be sth american anyway, hope for a couple of blue rams, corys, etc. My dublin 15 water is muck,so i'm 'importing' all my water from southside, and ro water. In my rio 180,the ph is a bit over 7,gh is 6-7,using this water.Tank has bogwood, sand and maybe a few small rocks. Question is,will this stuff be of any benefit?Cost is not an issue. Also, will the carbon pad in the juwel filter affect the extract, maybe remove it? Any help appreciated.

hi dave. used this stuff my self, the carbon will remove it from the water if you leave the carbon in. it does color the water a bit but i didnt realy find it much use after a couple of days. i got fed up dosing it in the end. if you not heavy on the plants which i expect your not if your leaving the carbon in, you prob better off changing the bog wood now and again.

thanks mralgae. i'm not heavy on the planting, just a couple of amazon swords and a bit of java fern. the water colour dosnt worry me,in fact i prefer the water to be a bit tinged with the sth americans.some say this takes from the colour of the fish, but i dont really notice it.
