So, I bought 4 fish last night, and one died shortly after putting them in the new tank outta the bag we brought them home in... he was very small to start with, so probably just shock...
I have another one (the smallest of the 3 in there now) who has quite a long strand of poop hanging from it. The other ones have little poops that fall off as soon as they go... this one fish has white feces and it just seems to not wanting to fall off..
What is the deal?
I have heard of feeding fish peas? Is this a good idea?

Ok, the feces strand fell off....
Fish is not acting quite right... the other 2 are fine though.
I might run and get some antifungal and parasite stuff.....

I wouldn't worry about that it happens a lot but you could give them some peas he mite be constipated, have you tested you water stats.

I wouldn't worry about that it happens a lot but you could give them some peas he mite be constipated, have you tested you water stats. Dont give the fish peas, he might have been fed these and this is why his pooh is discoloured. You want to see if his pooh will return to its normal dark colours. Wait few days before you treat it.If it doeen`t then it could be internal worms. White solid pooh is usually a sign of internal worms. If it is stringy and see through then it could be Spironucleus Vortens. But I would say that it is worms mysef. You also siad that one of the fish died when you put him in the tank. Thats a bad sign to me. I would return the fish to the lfs where you bought them and demand a refund. Do you not have a quarantine tank. Always quarantine new fish. I would say 90% of all fish loses is because the owners did not quarantine new fish. If you intend keeping the fish I would treat the tank with Sterazin. Or you might want to try a pig wormer if you can get it.

So are you saying that 'normal' coloured faeces strands are OK? A friend of mine keeps goldfish and they often have long, dark coloured strands stretching almost the length of the tank. I think it looks disgusting
