My dream tank which I hope to start on soon is a brackish mangrove swamp biotope. The inhabitants of this biotope are very unique even though it’s apparently very hard to plant.
Does anybody have experience with; mudskippers, fiddler crabs, 4-eyes (Anableps anableps) and Archer fish? (I already have one archer fish). Can they even be bought in Ireland? Also has anybody ever come across a plant called Giant Hygrophila?
I have a book called 'Creating a natural aquarium', by Peter hisc-ock (Somehow that changed to histhingy?! It's a real name), about setting-up natural biotopes and this one seems fascinating. You need to leave an area of the tank above water.

Thanks, lots of very interesting new info there. I didn't realise they got so big. I might need a bit more room! Just out of curiosity, does anybody know how you would keep the air humid and warm in a tank with a beach?
