How much damage can a fish do to itself from constantly jumping up out of the water and hitting itself off the hood? I have a cory that keeps doing it.

cories need space above the water line (about 3-5cm) as they naturally jump to gulp air (which then passes through their intestne lining into their blood stream) so they must have that extra head space.
potentially a lot of damage. your best course of action would be to lower the water level.

yes i would say lower the water level, corries are know for juping up like that and dont forget to keep your hood closed, you dont want them ending up on the floor.

The cory will probably end up killing himself so I agree lower the water level if you haven't already.
