is it just me or does anyone else have problems keeping guppies alive? arent they supposed to be hardy fish?

Whats your water chemistry like? They don't do as well in soft water. maybe that is the problem. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong but it could be that tank bred guppies are so inbred now that they have very poor immune systems and die alot earlier than the hardier wild caught guppies.

i also have trouble keeping guppies like jackpike said there so inbred now it makes them a weaker fish now all my guppies i had all died

I still have some of mine, but i have them in with some loachs that will eat any guppy fry and once they are gone i will not get any more because once they start breeding the guppys numbers just get out of control

I used to have problems keep alive female guppies for some reason. i currently have 1 male guppie in my tank for the last year which im suprised it lasted this long but i wouldnt keep those again as ive had enough with livebrearers
