Hi Kelly most barbs are peaceful ,with exception to the Denison(Red torpedo barb& the Tiger barb, these two are fin nippers and can be a little aggressive, as for most barbs they are a peaceful fish and most are very lively,IMO i would not keep these two barbs with your guppy's as the males will have no tails left Ive Kept lots of different barbs cherry barbs, are nice and colorful and also ticto, but they are mad to watch and eat every thing in site but with guppys id go for cherry barbs imo if you want to keep barbs!!

If you do go for the barbs Janette suggested be sure to buy at least 4 or more. As a rule barbs are best to be kept in these numbers.

a mixed sex group of 6+ peaceful barbs will leave the gups alone because they will 90% of the time be too busy showing off to each other. on the other hand, a small group of 1-3 barbs will 90% of the time tear the gups to pieces (or at least their tails)
