Hi I bought 6 Zebra Danios the other day (thanks to Karen's advice) and they are very active fish, they've certainly livened up my tank! Has anyone else got these fish? Joy

I bought two male guppys at the same time and the danios seem to be chasing them around the tank a lot.

One of my guppy's is missing this morning. I've searched the whole tank and I can't find him. Do you think it's possible the danios have eaten him?

Danios will 9/10 harrass a guppy to death. This is why I tend to dislike them on a whole, especially zebra danios as they tend to do this most. You could try getting more danios so that they are occupied with their own kind (which might not work) or you can seperate the two species (which is what I would do).

Hi, thanks for your advice.
I bought the six danios and the two guppy's at the same time and the guy at the aquatics said they would be fine together. If I had known they would harrass the guppy's then I would have never have bought them together.

well, i've been told before that my gups would be ok with red tailed sharks lol (you see, when i come across a new LFS, I test them by "pretending" to be a newbie and asking for some basic advice on which i then judge them) depending on the LFS you can get some really bad advice there or some great hints and tips...

Joy did you notice that guppie acting strange or any sign of sickness at all and have you checked your floor and surrounding areas to make sure he hasnt jumped?I would give your danios time to settle down.

I've checked everywhere. I know he's got to be in there somewhere but I never found my balloon molly that died either. He didn't look ill and he was swimming around and eating and then a few hours later I couldn't find him.

I would give your danios time to settle down. IME once they settle they tend to become even bolder... He could be just hiding... I've got a mate who lost her male betta for 4 weeks before he suddenly apeared again out of the blue! apparently he had been living behind the filter...

I did wonder if he was behind the filter so I moved it and he wasn't there. I hope he appears soon but I have a feeling he won't.

Well hopefully he will appear soon.IMO i have never found danios to be nasty when in groups of six or more and have never had any problems with them in the same tank as guppies at all.

Have they died and then be eaten? have you any animals that may be able to catch your fish?
