Hi martin as Mr algae said, it is one of the most hardest of the vallis yet imo the nicest.A mate of mine can grow this but he has co2 and very bright lights, in the tank ,i think it prefers bright light.

janette is right on the bright light. tropica book recomends: light: med-very high, temp: 20-28c, gh: soft-very hard, ph: 6-8.5, demands: medium.

I currently keep 3-4 species of vallis including twisted and have had no problems with any of them yet... I keep mine in pHs of 5-9, temps of 20-29C, water from very soft to very hard, even with herbivorous fish in some tanks! in some of the tanks there is no lighting save from what comes through the window, in others it's over 1.25w/L some tanks have CO2, others don't. no ferts at all in any of the tanks! Yet, the plant is thriving well and I will be thinning the plants out today! but then again, one of my mate's is havign trouble growing it in any of her tanks! so i would say it's something worth trying and if you succede with it, good on you
