Im thinking of getting one of these for my tank.they seem a very nasty fish,anyone ever kept one of these before?

Texans are cool cichlds but very aggressive. Make sure it is carpinthhe and not a cyanogatattum. Both are very alike and hard to tell apart. The latter grows way bigger than the other. cyano`s grow to about 12 " the other about 4" How big is your tank. If your looking for big cichlids I have 4 synspillums and I am selling 2 of them. They are about 3" now.

karen, anthony, Herichthys carpintis is commonly known as a Pearlscale, whilst Cichlasoma cyanoguttatum is known as Texas cichlid, Rio Grande perch. Both fish can grow to +/- 30cm., for one of these fish I recommend at least a 55g tank, preferably 75g. Hope this is of some help.
